As we embark on an exciting growth phase, we are seeking a driven and experienced Business Development professional to represent our Engineering Construction business on the East Coast. Your outstanding interpersonal and communication skills will be crucial as you engage with current and prospective partners in the region.
Ideally, the successful candidate will be based in Brisbane and possess a proven track record of working with a diverse clientele across the Energy, Resources, and Infrastructure sectors. You will leverage your ability to actively connect with clients and identify key opportunities in both established and emerging markets. This role will involve methodically tracking and reporting on prospects, positioning you as the primary driver in converting opportunities into secured project successes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the National Business Development Manager to identify growth opportunities for our East Coast construction operations in alignment with our strategic objectives.
- Maintain and strengthen existing customer relationships while exploring new avenues for business development.
- Systematically track and report on the pipeline of prospects across the East Coast of Australia.
- Lead the process from opportunity identification to tender submission, working alongside our Tendering team to formulate winning strategies.
- Oversee pre-tender activities such as Expressions of Interest (EOIs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and prequalifications, ensuring we are positioned as the contractor of choice.
- Develop and implement strategies to capitalize on opportunities in sectors beyond our current portfolio.
- Represent the company in governmental working groups, industry events, and networking opportunities.
- Create innovative proposals that consider the evolving regulatory landscape and global conditions, while providing business insights and analysis to the management team.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A passion for Business Development, with a demonstrated ability to positively impact our organization.
- Strong knowledge of multidisciplinary construction projects in sectors such as Power Generation, Renewables, Mineral Resources, and Chemicals.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence both external and internal stakeholders with a natural leadership approach.
- While tertiary qualifications in a related field are advantageous, cultural fit is essential, and you should be eager to lead the business development function.
- A proven track record in negotiation and a history of securing work by meeting client expectations through innovative solutions.
