Principal, Business Architecture

Credit Union Australia is seeking a highly skilled Principal, Business Architecture to join the Enterprise Delivery team for a 12-month max-term contract.

The core purpose of this role is to oversee and shape the business capability framework and contribute to the broader enterprise strategy, which includes ideation and lead for new business initiatives.

This position is pivotal in identifying and addressing cross-functional business needs and ensuring the alignment of business capabilities with strategic goals.

This position is located at our Brisbane CBD Head Office, offering you the flexibility to work from home two days a week.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of business capability frameworks and contribute to the overall enterprise strategy, ensuring that business capabilities are integrated within the organisational processes and systems.
  • Oversee the scope, schedule, costs, risks, and quality of business capability initiatives, aligning these elements with broader business objectives and strategies.
  • Influence key stakeholders and collaborate closely with various teams across the organisation to enhance the strategic alignment and execution of new business initiatives.
  • Foster a shared understanding of business priorities across different services and departments to improve communication, strategic alignment, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the business capability framework are aligned with the organisation's strategic themes and KPIs.
About you:

  • 6 years' experience as a Business Architect or in a similar role focused on business capability development and strategic planning.
  • Strong financial industry background is essential.
  • Experience in the development and maintenance of business capability models and frameworks.
  • Proven track record in leading ideation and execution of new business initiatives.
  • Possession of a relevant qualification or certification in business architecture, such as TOGAF, BIZBOK, or similar.
  • Degree qualified in business, information technology, computer science, or a related discipline, which underpins a deep understanding of business architecture principles.
  • Certifications in Agile, PRINCE2, or other relevant frameworks will be highly regarded, demonstrating a proficiency in adaptive and strategic business methodologies.
