Job Overview

The Mechanical Demobilisation Manager is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient demobilisation of a Tunnel Boring Machine. This includes coordinating crews, managing logistics, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and working closely with engineering and project teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the demobilisation of the TBM, including dismantling, removal, and transport of equipment.
  • Supervise on-site crews to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to specification.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety, quality, and environmental standards throughout the demobilisation process.
  • Collaborate with engineering, logistics, and procurement teams to plan demobilisation activities efficiently.
  • Document dismantling procedures, equipment condition, and asset tracking accurately.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders as required.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with heavy lifting, confined space work, and environmental impact.
  • Participate in daily meetings and safety briefings.
  • Monitor progress against the demobilisation schedule and address delays proactively.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a supervisor on TBM projects, focusing on demobilisation or mechanical systems.
  • Strong understanding of TBM systems and tunnelling operations.
  • Experience in managing high-risk activities, including heavy lifts and decommissioning.
  • Leadership skills to manage teams and subcontractors in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in tunnelling and construction.
