About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring safe and efficient tunnel boring machine operations delivery.

  • Building strong working relationships with subcontractors, employees, and external stakeholders is crucial for project success.
  • Maintaining high-quality standards through rigorous safety and environmental assessments ensures operational compliance and staff well-being.
  • Serving as a visible leader on site through regular walks, team engagement, and issue resolution is essential for effective communication and collaboration.
  • Supervising and scheduling mechanical maintenance activities for TBMs to ensure operational compliance and safety requires attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Assisting with work program planning, monitoring progress, and allocating resources effectively enables efficient project delivery.
  • Coordinating routine TBM maintenance planning and execution ensures minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Ensuring staff are adequately trained, inducted, and compliant with Safe Work Method Statements promotes a culture of safety and responsibility.
  • Leading pre-start meetings and toolbox talks focused on safety management and upcoming activities encourages open communication and proactive problem-solving.
Your Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated supervisory expertise on major Tier 1 projects, with specific TBM experience, is highly valued.
  • Possession of a recognized Mechanical trade qualification is essential for this role.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within a high-performing team are critical for success.
  • Strong understanding of programme management, deadlines, and resource control is necessary for effective project delivery.
  • A commitment to driving a positive safety-first culture is expected.

The project involves constructing 9 kilometers of twin metro rail tunnels between Westmead and Sydney Olympic Park, excavating new station boxes at Westmead and Parramatta, earthworks, utilities, and connecting tunnels for a Maintenance and Stabling Facility at Clyde, a precast concrete segment factory at Eastern Creek, and a services facility, crossover structure, and excavation to support tunnelling operations at Rosehill.
