The Company:

Austunnel is a proudly Australian-owned company delivering products and services to major tunnelling and infrastructure projects across NSW, QLD and Victoria. Right now, we are seeking Mechanical Fitters to join our Sydney tunnelling projects with future opportunities available across our expanding national pipeline.

The Role:

Work hands-on with Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) on landmark Sydney projects. This is a local hire role (not FIFO/DIDO), so Sydney-based tradespeople or those relocating are encouraged to apply.

Essentials:

  • Mechanical trade qualification (Australian recognised)
  • White Card + tickets (Working at Heights, HR WP etc. a bonus)
  • 2+ years' experience in construction, mining or tunnelling
  • Safety-focused, reliable, and team-oriented
  • Flexibility for shifts, nights, and weekends

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • TBM assembly and demobilisation
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems (fault finding and repair)
  • Conveyor or Slurry Treatment Plant work
  • Underground hard rock mining experience
