Job Description

The Senior Electronics Manufacturing Director is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the production of complex navigation electronics for Defence and commercial applications at Advanced Navigation. As part of our high-volume manufacturing team, you will lead a team of 7 Production Engineers to maintain and deliver production systems, including equipment, processes, training, quality management, returns management, and Design for Manufacture.

Responsibilities:
1. Lead a team of 7 Production Engineers based at our Botany and Balcatta facilities to achieve quarterly goals and weekly targets.
2. Provide direction, coaching, development, and support to the team to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
3. Take a leadership role in Advanced Navigation's quarterly planning process to align production engineering goals with company objectives.
4. Analyze company goals against status and design laser-focused production engineering goals for the team.
5. Represent and uphold core production engineering principles with internal stakeholders.
6. Educate the business through formal and informal communications on production engineering best practices.
7. Partner with the Head of Production to maintain the production line, ensuring efficient product flow and minimal downtime.
8. Work with the team to analyze failed products, equipment, or processes to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
9. Drive scale in high-performing product lines by identifying opportunities to increase throughput and implementing solutions to improve efficiency.
10. Ensure Advanced Navigation's production equipment is optimized, maintained, and available for use by collaborating with the team and suppliers.

Requirements:
1. 10+ years of experience in production and production engineering functions, with a proven track record of managing people and teams.
2. 5+ years of experience working in high-volume electronics manufacturing, with expertise in FAI, verification, and validation (V&V), PCB electronics design, testing, and troubleshooting.
3. Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders across the business.
4. Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and ISO 9001:2015 standards, as well as ERP tools like Microsoft Dynamics or SAP.
