Welcome to our role as a Behaviour Support Practitioner, where you will be supporting individuals with their needs and goals. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team environment, providing support plans that are tailored to each individual's requirements.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Conducting assessments and developing person-centred plans to identify the needs and goals of our participants.
  2. Evaluating, developing and delivering evidence-based support plans within complex environments.
  3. Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies using the positive behaviour support framework, eliminating restrictive practices in the home and community.
  4. Ensuring individual plans reflect the passions, strengths and interests of our participants.
  5. Building the knowledge capacity and strengths of those who support our participants, including family carers and friends.

You will be working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including mentoring less experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners.

About this role:

  1. You should have considerable experience working as a Behaviour Support Practitioner for a registered NDIS provider or have obtained suitability at the Proficient or Advanced level via the self-assessment application pathway with the NDIS Commission.
  2. You should possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  3. You should have excellent time management and organisational skills.
  4. You should have a genuine passion for working in the disability sector and mentoring less experienced practitioners.
  5. You should be solution-focused, proactive and motivated by improvement and testing new ideas.
  6. You should be looking for a fun, collaborative and supportive work environment.
  7. You should have current suitability confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission at the Proficient or Advanced level as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
  8. A degree-level qualification in an allied health discipline would be advantageous but is not essential.
