About the Opportunity



We are seeking an experienced Corporate Lawyer to join our team at Australia Post. As an officer of the court, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and support on a range of matters, including employment and workplace relations, industrial relations, and discrimination law.



Key Responsibilities




  • Provide legal advice and support on employment and workplace relations matters, including recruitment, performance management, and termination of employment
  • Manage IR matters, including interpretation and application of terms in EAs and awards, responding to industrial action, and consultation requirements
  • Manage discrimination law matters, including complaints, conciliations, and litigation related to job applicants, employees, customers, and the public
  • Conduct employment, industrial relations, and discrimination litigation in various jurisdictions, including the FWC, Magistrates Court, Supreme Courts, Federal Court, and State IRCs
  • Provide employment, industrial relations, and discrimination aspects of enterprise strategic projects, including simplification, modernisation, and workplace change
  • Prepare and review employment-related documentation, including employment contracts, policies, and settlement and release agreements
  • Manage employment and workplace relations issues arising in connection with Australia Post's extended workforce, including licensees and contractors


About You




  • 5+ years of post-admission experience in employment, industrial relations, and workplace law
  • Strong understanding of employment, industrial relations, and discrimination law, including relevant legislation and regulations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
