Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Earthworks Specialist

Job Description

The Role of a Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Earthworks Specialist is to coordinate technical activities on assigned projects, including planning, scheduling, and quality control management. This involves effective communication and coordination between disciplines, project participants, and clients.

This position will be based in our Australia office but work on overseas projects primarily in West Africa and South-East Asia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain quality control of earthworks and surrounding infrastructure.
  • Participate in teams to provide technical support and skills on projects.
  • Accurately record observations, analysis results, and conclusions in written reports.
  • Review Contractors' methodologies, plans, and inspection test plans to ensure suitability.
  • Ensure Contractors meet site safety and environmental standards.
  • Optimise performance from a schedule and cost perspective.
  • Monitor Contractors' progress and address areas behind schedule.
  • Prepare Daily and Weekly Site Reports covering safety, environment, quality, and schedule.
  • Prepare final Construction Reports on each project's completion.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree in civil engineering, geotechnical or water resources.

Experience:

  • 10 years of experience in geotechnical structures design and construction projects, particularly in mining infrastructure.

Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of civil, geotechnical, water resources, environmental engineering, and/or earthwork construction principles.
