This position is an exciting opportunity to join a reputable consulting firm with over 100 years of industry experience. As a Senior Site Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating all technical activities on assigned projects.
- Plan and schedule engineering work, monitor progress for compliance with codes and standards, and ensure effective communication between disciplines and project participants.
The role involves significant experience in earthworks supervision and QA/QC management. You will be working primarily on construction of earth-fill tailings dams and liner systems.
You will maintain quality control of earthworks and surrounding infrastructure, actively participate in teams to provide technical skills and support, and record observations and analysis results into written reports.

- Accurately record observations, analysis results, assumptions, and conclusions into written reports.
- Review Contractors' proposed methodologies, plans, and ITPs to ensure suitability to achieve technical requirements.
- Review Contractor fleet to ensure it meets the detailed schedule and can complete works efficiently.
- Ensure Contractors work efficiently to avoid time or cost overruns.
- Ensure Contractors meet site safety and environmental standards at all times.
- Ensure Contractors meet specification and quality control requirements of the project.
- Work with Contractor personnel to optimize performance from a schedule and cost perspective.
- Review Contractors' progress, highlighting areas where progress is behind schedule.
- Provide progress reporting, highlighting areas where progress is behind schedule and providing support in developing remedial action.
- Participate in site meetings/discussions.
- Prepare Daily and Weekly Site Reports covering all aspects of safety, environment, quality, and schedule.
- Prepare a final Construction Report on completion of each project.
A strong working knowledge of civil, geotechnical, water resources, environmental engineering, and/or earthwork construction principles is essential. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, geotechnical, or water resources is required.
Candidates must have at least 10 years of experience in geotechnical structures design and construction projects, particularly in mining infrastructure. Successful candidates must be able to read, analyze, and interpret engineering reports, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
