Environmental Sustainability Specialist

The role provides leadership, strategic direction, and mentorship to a technically skilled and multi-disciplinary team of Environmental Health Officers. Key responsibilities include managing the delivery of complex environmental health investigations and inspections across the Townsville region.
Additional duties involve coordinating and supervising the team's work across areas including food safety, disaster management, environmental protection, public health, waste and environmentally relevant activities.
Required Qualifications- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health or a closely related discipline are essential.
- Advanced knowledge of Environmental Health legislation, regulatory frameworks, and compliance standards is required.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in resource planning, prioritisation, and delivering high-quality outcomes in a customer-centric environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to prepare complex reports and procedures, are also essential.
