As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will drive environmental innovation and identify opportunities for improvement.

About the Role
  • Evaluate compliance against contractual requirements and environmental standards to inform project teams.
  • Develop and implement environmental plans, strategies, and procedures to minimize environmental impact.
  • Monitor and maintain performance of environmental assessments and reporting to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate project environmental auditing requirements under the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), Environmental Performance Requirements (EPRs), and contractual obligations.
  • Manage and update Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) including the Environmental Strategy, CEMP, and EPR Plans.
  • Oversee internal and external audits such as ISO 14001, company audits, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Evaluate compliance against project contractual and environmental requirements and present findings in meetings, audits, and management presentations.

You will need:

  • A degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in Environmental Science/Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in civil construction with expertise in environmental management, preferably on the principal contractor side.
  • Prior experience on major civil projects in transportation, water, defense, or infrastructure is highly regarded.
  • A proven track record in delivering high sustainability ratings for infrastructure projects, particularly in construction or civil engineering sectors.
  • Experience in ISCA documentation preparation, submission processes, and stakeholder engagement throughout rating assessments.
  • Familiarity with ISCA criteria across planning, design, construction, and operation phases.
