Environmental Sustainability Specialist

This key role supports the environmental performance and regulatory compliance of our operational mine site, ensuring adherence to the Environmental Management System through audits and training.

About the Position:

  • Monitor environmental compliance and complete inspections
  • Report and manage environmental incidents and investigations
  • Ensure accurate and timely statutory and internal environmental reporting
  • Provide advice and training on environmental procedures and controls
  • Oversee waste management and drive sustainable practices
  • Liaise with site teams to promote environmental awareness and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and internal systems

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an environmental role on an operational mine site
  • Solid understanding of key legislation including the Environmental Protection Act and EPBC Act
  • Risk management and investigation competencies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
