We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Solar Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design and documentation of residential solar systems, providing crucial support to our installation team.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within the solar industry. They must possess strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a diverse team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the sales team to generate Panel Layouts, Potential System Performances, ROI calculations, and Shading Analysis.
  • Provide technical advice to representatives, coordinators, installers, and customer service teams.
  • Ensure accurate and complete supporting documentation for order processing.
  • Thoroughly prepare project documentation in coordination with all stakeholders.
  • Analyze energy consumption data for existing buildings and design tailored systems to meet client requirements.
  • Generate comprehensive Work Orders for installers, including Voltage Rise calculations and Single Line Diagrams.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, the candidate must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within the solar industry.
  • SAA design accreditation for grid connected.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite/Office 365, AutoCAD (essential) and PVSyst.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical and structural engineering principles as applied to solar energy systems.
  • Familiarity with local permitting processes and building codes related to solar installations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to thrive in a diverse team environment.
  • Dedication to achieving company objectives.
  • Ability to function effectively in a multi-disciplined, multi-skilled work environment as a collaborative team player.
