About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Engineer to join our Infrastructure team in Sydney. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in Linux and storage technologies to maintain and optimize our systems, working with a wide range of tools and technologies including provisioning, configuration management, virtualization, storage, networking, and more.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience administering and working with Linux and/or storage systems, along with a proven track record of designing and delivering end-to-end systems and solutions with storage/data at scale. Strong programming skills in Bash, Python, or other languages are essential, as well as automation-focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • SUPPORTING AND OPTIMISING OUR APAC LINUX ESTATE: We're looking for someone who can take ownership of our Linux infrastructure, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Continuous improvement of tools and pipelines: You'll work closely with our teams to design and implement improvements that help us scale as we grow.
  • Hardware and software configuration: Gain hands-on experience with trading-specific hardware and software configurations.
  • Root cause analysis and issue resolution: Collaborate with other teams to identify and fix storage-related issues.
  • NAS and SAN device management: Design, deploy, and manage capacity for our enterprise environment.
  • Tooling and system support: Work with Puppet, Ansible, Openstack, Airflow, file sync protocols, VMWare, and monitoring/logging/reporting tools.
  • Storage network administration: Support and administer our storage and backup network infrastructure.
  • Major projects: Contribute to regional initiatives such as rolling out new trading platforms, deploying new solutions, and automating/enhancing existing systems.
