Role Overview

Susquehanna Pacific is a leading global quantitative trading firm seeking a seasoned Senior Linux Systems Engineer to join its Sydney-based Infrastructure team. This dynamic role will leverage the candidate's extensive knowledge of Linux and associated hardware/software to maintain, optimize, and enhance the company's systems.

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a positive and enthusiastic individual to work with a diverse range of technologies, including provisioning, configuration management, virtualization, storage, networking, and more. While some after-hours and on-call work may be required, the role prioritizes collaboration and delivering high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and optimize Susquehanna Pacific's APAC Linux estate, ensuring continuous improvement of tools and pipelines to support business growth.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with hardware and software configurations relevant to the trading space, including OS optimization, NICs, kernel tuning, and core isolation.
  • Collaborate with/Implement/Support tooling/systems like Puppet, Ansible, Openstack, VMWare, Kafka, Kubernetes, and monitoring/logging/reporting tools (CheckMK, Nagios, Prometheus, ELK).
  • Support and administer storage and backup network infrastructure (Various SAN, NAS, DAS technologies such as NetAPP, Pure, GPFS & Vast).
  • Contribute to major regional projects like rolling out new trading platforms, deploying new solutions as required by the business, and automating/enhancing existing systems.

Requirements
  • A proven Linux engineer who prioritizes teamwork and excels in collaborative environments.
  • Substantial experience administering and working with Linux systems and associated tooling, with Data Centers/Hardware/trading systems knowledge an advantage.
  • Demonstrable skills in programming/scripting languages (Bash, Python, or others).
  • Automation-focused professional with a track record of designing/delivering end-to-end systems and solutions.

Salary Estimate: AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
