Role Overview:

Sig Susquehanna is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer to join our Infrastructure team in Sydney. As a key member of our team, you will leverage your expertise in Linux and associated hardware and software to maintain and optimize our systems.

This role will provide an opportunity to work with a wide range of technologies, including provisioning, configuration management, virtualization, storage, networking, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support and optimize our APAC Linux estate, continuously improving our tools and pipelines to ensure that our systems scale as the company grows.
  2. Gain in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of hardware and software configuration applicable to the trading space, including OS optimization, NICs & kernel tuning, and core isolation.
  3. Work with and implement support systems such as Puppet, Ansible, OpenStack, VMWare, Kafka, Kubernetes, and a suite of monitoring/logging/reporting tools.
  4. Support and administer our storage and backup network infrastructure, including various SAN, NAS, DAS technologies.
  5. Participate in major projects in the region, such as rolling out new trading platforms, deploying new solutions as required by the business, and automating/enhancing existing systems.

Requirements:

  • A solid background in administering and working with Linux systems and associated tooling, with knowledge of data centers/hardware/trading systems being an advantage.
  • Demonstrable skills with programming/scripting in Bash, Python, or other languages.
  • Automation-focused with a proven track record of designing/delivering end-to-end systems and solutions.
