Job Role: Sentence Planning Specialist

The Sentence Planning Specialist will contribute to the day-to-day operations of a correctional centre or HUB environment, performing sentence management functions. The successful applicant will be responsible for timely and accurate assessment of prisoners entering the correctional system.

This role involves ensuring lawful detention and supervision, undertaking assessments of prisoners, and monitoring administrative tasks in accordance with established practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure an efficient and effective service is provided by following established protocols and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of the criminal justice system or similar legislated work environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to meet the challenges of a demanding work environment.
  • Planning and organising skills to ensure tasks are completed within deadlines.
  • Interpersonal and negotiation skills to support service delivery in an environment where engagement with internal and external stakeholders is critical.

This mid-senior level, full-time position requires autonomy and teamwork to achieve outcomes. The successful applicant will have a strong skill set and be able to operate effectively in an outcome-driven environment.
