The Statewide Managers will be responsible for managing either:

  1. Lawful Detention Unit
  2. Prisoner Progression (Parole Reports and Low Custody decisions)
  3. Operations (Capacity Management, Practice and Development)

These roles operate on a rotational basis, subject to consultation with incumbents. This approach supports knowledge sharing and succession planning to ensure the continuous delivery of these critical QCS functions.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and experience aligned with these essential role requirements of the Individual Contributor leadership stream:

  • Strong senior leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, mentor, and encourage adherence to legislative and procedural provisions.
  • Proven experience in managing risk and developing mitigation strategies to ensure accuracy and compliance with legislation, policy, and procedures.
  • Experience in, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of:
    • sentence management and administration practices,
    • interpretation and application of statutory provisions relating to offender management,
    • criminal justice or similar human services/regulatory environments.
  • Proven ability in developing and managing stakeholder relationships, providing timely advice on complex issues, negotiating outcomes, and maintaining networks.
  • Knowledge and skills in enhancing service delivery, developing innovative solutions, and monitoring trends to inform future decisions within a unit.
  • Experience working strategically, identifying opportunities, and leading change across sentence management services.

Applications will remain current for 12 months.
