Executive Leadership Opportunity in Remote Health Care

Sunrise Health Service Aboriginal Corporation is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer to lead our health care delivery across remote Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory.

About the Role

The Chief Operating Officer reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for the day-to-day operational and administrative functions of the organisation. This includes leadership across clinical services, workforce development, compliance, financial oversight, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Translating strategic goals into effective operational plans
  • Leading a multidisciplinary team and promoting a high-performing culture
  • Ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards
  • Overseeing budgeting, capital planning and financial reporting
  • Building strong relationships with Aboriginal communities and key stakeholders
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Health Administration or a related field
  • 5+ years' executive leadership experience in a health or community setting
  • Cultural competence and understanding of Aboriginal primary health care
  • Strong leadership, financial management, and compliance experience
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Experience in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation
  • Knowledge of ISO, RACGP, and NDIS accreditation standards
  • Postgraduate qualifications in governance, leadership, or health management (desired)
