Lead Indigenous Health Research and Curriculum Development

This leadership role will provide opportunities to shape the future of Indigenous health, collaborating across faculties, research centres, and communities.

  • Provide strategic direction for the Ngarruwan Ngadju First Peoples Health and Wellbeing Research Centre's mission to advance Indigenous health outcomes.
  • Support and mentor academic staff in developing culturally safe and effective health programs, promoting a culture of excellence within the School of Medical Sciences.
  • Collaborate with Indigenous communities to drive innovation in healthcare, fostering a culture of growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance Indigenous health research and curriculum development efforts.
  2. Mentor and support academic staff in their research, teaching, and engagement with Indigenous communities.
  3. Cultivate partnerships with Indigenous communities to develop culturally responsive health programs and services.
  4. Foster a collaborative environment that promotes knowledge sharing, innovation, and growth among faculty members and students.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant field, with significant expertise in Indigenous health research and education.
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing teams and developing strategic plans that drive results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and a strong understanding of the social determinants of Indigenous health.
