Overview of the Role

This role is available at NSW Health Pathology, based at Moree District Hospital. It offers a part-time permanent position that enables you to further your career as a blood collector or start your path.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working on a Monday to Friday basis at either the Frome St Collection Centre or the hospital-based Laboratory collections at Alice St, Moree.
  • Providing pathology collection services to Moree Hospital and the local community.
  • Exposure to inpatient and outpatient settings and close connection to an active pathology laboratory.
  • Contributing to the healthcare of your local community.

Requirements

  • Certificate III in Pathology Collections and/or previous experience in venepuncture or demonstrated ability to learn all aspects of the clinical environment relevant to the Department.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience and strong communication with patients, carers and clinical staff.
  • Ability to manage a demanding professional team environment with competing priorities and strict deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy.

Additional Requirements

  • Unencumbered Class C Driver's License (valid in NSW) or the ability to travel to any site for a shift as required.
  • Willingness to participate in shift work including weekend work and travel to any site within the operational area as requested.
  • Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases: Category A position.

This is a permanent position. To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency. Non-citizens or non-permanent residents are eligible for temporary employment only for the duration of their current visa.
