Medical Laboratory Assistant Role

This is a part-time permanent position that involves providing pathology collection services to the local community. The successful candidate will be based at Moree District Hospital and work closely with an active pathology laboratory.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work on a Monday to Friday basis at either the Frome St Collection Centre or the hospital-based Laboratory collections at Alice St, Moree.
  • Collect blood specimens from inpatient and outpatient settings.
Key Requirements
  • A Certificate III in Pathology Collections or previous experience in venepuncture.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and strong communication with patients, carers, and clinical staff.
  • Familiarity with pathology terminology and willingness to learn a broad scope of collection, data entry, and specimen preparation practices.
  • An Unencumbered Class C Driver's License (valid in NSW) or the ability to travel to any site for a shift as required.

This role requires a high level of customer service and effective communication skills. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to provide pathology collection services to the local community.
