Job Opportunity

Seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at NSW Health Pathology. The successful candidate will work on a Monday to Friday basis at the Frome St Collection Centre or the hospital-based Laboratory collections at Alice St, Moree.

About the Role

  • You will be responsible for providing pathology collection services to Moree Hospital and the local community.
  • Exposure to inpatient and outpatient settings with close connections to an active pathology laboratory.
  • Working with a busy laboratory team, providing opportunities to further your career as a blood collector or if you are just starting out.

Requirements

  • Certificate III in Pathology Collections and/or previous experience in venepuncture or demonstrated ability to learn all aspects of the clinical environment relevant to the Department.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience and strong communication skills with patients, carers and clinical staff.
  • Familiarity with pathology terminology and willingness to learn a broad scope of collection, data entry and specimen preparation practices.
  • Unencumbered Class C Driver's License (valid in NSW) or ability to travel to any site for a shift as required.

Working Requirements

  • This is a Category A position, requiring applicants to comply with NSW Health Policy Directive PD2024_015.
  • Preferred candidates may be required to undergo a functional assessment prior to appointment.
  • Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency is required for permanent appointment.
