About the Role

Rising Sun Pictures is seeking a highly skilled Senior Production Manager to join our team in Adelaide. As a key member of our production group, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing multiple projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.

Job Description
  • Manage and oversee production workflows and processes, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve production methodologies and reduce costs.
  • Supervise and mentor junior production staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including producers, directors, and artists, to ensure project goals are met.
Key Responsibilities
  • Production Management:
    • Implement and improve production methodologies and processes.
    • Oversee and make decisions on production workflows and tools.
    • Document production standards and best practices.
    • Ensure understanding of production management disciplines among relevant staff.
    • Supervise new show start-up procedures.
    • Initiate and facilitate strategic discussions on projects as required.
    • Provide information for risk assessment where necessary.
    • Report and resolve potential project or general workflow issues before they arise.
    • Support Crew Managers in prioritizing and casting as required.
    • Manage the allocation of production resources, including personnel and equipment.
  • Supervision:
    • Manage and mentor direct reports.
    • Provide support and guidance to Crew Managers in managing Associate Production Managers, Production Managers, and Senior Production Managers.
    • Identify the need for additional production team members and participate in the interviewing and hiring process.
    • Foster a positive environment within the production team, promoting team bonding and collaboration.

    • Proficiency in managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
    • Strong communication skills to facilitate clear and efficient interaction with team members and stakeholders.
    • Excellent organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
    • Effective delegation skills to allocate tasks appropriately among team members.
  • Project Management Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail to ensure consistency, accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of information.
    • Commitment to maintaining high standards in project delivery.
    • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks efficiently.
    • Capability to influence and motivate staff across various departments to achieve project goals.
    • Be adept at troubleshooting and problem-solving, as you encounter technical challenges and constraints that need to be addressed.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel for documentation and data analysis.
    • Solid knowledge of database and scheduling software such as Shotgun or similar tools.
  • Industry Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of the VFX industry, including planning, workflows, processes, and requirements.
    • Solid knowledge of the VFX pipeline, understanding how a shot progresses from start to finish.
  • Leadership Skills:
    • Ability to provide positive and motivational leadership to develop and nurture company culture and values.
    • Skilled in fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Benefits and Salary Information

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including comprehensive health insurance, generous leave entitlements, and professional development opportunities.
