Production Supervisor Opportunity at Rising Sun Pictures

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team in Adelaide, providing exceptional oversight and leadership in production practices.

As a key member of our production group, you will play a pivotal role in setting the standard for production workflows and tools, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and excellence throughout our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement improved production methodologies and processes to enhance team productivity, in collaboration with the Head of Production and Executive Producer.
  • Oversight and decision-making regarding production workflows and tools to ensure adherence to established standards and best practices.
  • Documentation of production standards and best practices to ensure clarity and understanding among relevant staff.
  • Training and development of production management disciplines to ensure effective knowledge sharing and implementation.
  • Supervision of new show start-up procedures to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Facilitation of strategic discussions on projects as required to drive success and growth.
  • Risk assessment and mitigation to identify potential project or workflow issues before they arise.
  • Resolution of potential project or workflow issues to maintain productivity and quality.
  • Support to Crew Managers in prioritizing and casting tasks as required.
  • Optimization of production resource allocation, including personnel, equipment, and workplace resources, to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Conducting show post-mortem surveys to identify areas for improvement and implement changes accordingly.
  • Development and implementation of changes to improve production processes based on feedback and analysis.
  • Management of downtime tasks to maintain productivity and minimize delays.
  • Pursuit of opportunities for growth and development in production, including coordination with Education for training.
  • Undertaking special projects as delegated by the Head of Production and Executive Producer.

Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Management and mentoring of direct reports, conducting annual reviews in conjunction with the People & Culture team.
  • Support and guidance to Crew Managers in managing Associate Production Managers, Production Managers, and Senior Production Managers, including advising on salary, contract lengths, disciplinary issues, or concerns.
  • Identification of the need for additional production team members and participation in the interviewing and hiring process.
  • Definition of expectations and role descriptions across production using defined competencies, in collaboration with the Head of Resourcing and Crew Management.
  • Fostering a positive environment within the production team, promoting team bonding and collaboration.

Benefits:

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary package, including a base salary of approximately $AUD 120,000 per annum, plus benefits and bonuses.
