Capital Governance Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven capital governance professional to embed effective capital management across the organization, integrating strategic oversight, project excellence, and asset risk management.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Annual Capital Planning: Oversee the coordination of the annual capital planning process, working closely with teams to develop and submit budgets for approval.
  2. Strategic Capital Management: Maintain the five-year capital plan and ensure projects align with corporate objectives.
  3. Compliance and Efficiency: Oversee capital approval workflows and ensure compliance with governance protocols and efficiency in the approvals process.
  4. Commercial Insights: Provide commercial and financial insights throughout the capital budgeting and project lifecycle.
  5. Asset Criticality: Oversee the organization's asset criticality review process, including ownership of assessments, training, and integration into capital planning and maintenance strategies.
  6. Asset Risk Management: Develop and enforce asset risk management standards and practices in collaboration with subject matter experts.
  7. Project Management: Provide project management and reporting support to delivery teams.
  8. Tool Maintenance: Collaborate with teams to maintain and enhance project management tools and methodologies.
  9. Capital Spend Monitoring: Monitor capital spend against plans, identify variances, and manage associated risks.
  10. Reporting: Report on project and portfolio performance using KPIs and dashboards.
  11. Lessons Learned: Facilitate post-project reviews, major project risk reviews, and lessons learned sessions.
  12. Capital Committee Reporting: Prepare and present monthly Capital Committee reports and dashboards.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Commerce, Finance, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Professional certifications in Project Management are required.
  • Proven experience in capital governance, project management, and financial analysis within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes and asset maintenance philosophies.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to senior executives.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
