Capital Governance Manager Job Description

The Capital Governance Manager is responsible for overseeing the annual capital budgeting process. This involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and submit the budget for approval.

Maintaining a five-year capital plan and ensuring projects align with corporate objectives is also a key responsibility.

The manager will oversee capital approval workflows, ensuring compliance with governance protocols and efficiency in the approvals process.

Providing commercial and financial insights throughout the capital budgeting and project lifecycle is crucial.

The Capital Governance Manager will be responsible for the company's asset criticality review process, including ownership of assessments, training, and integration into capital planning and maintenance strategies.

Developing and enforcing asset risk management standards and practices in collaboration with subject matter experts is essential.

Project management and reporting support to delivery teams will also be provided.

The manager will collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to maintain and enhance project management tools and methodologies, including training.

Closely monitoring capital spend against budget, identifying variances, and managing associated risks is a key aspect of the role.

Reporting on project and portfolio performance using KPIs and dashboards will also be required.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Commerce, Finance, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Professional certifications in Project Management are mandatory.
  • Proven experience in capital governance, project management, and financial analysis within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes and asset maintenance philosophies is necessary.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to stakeholders are required.
  • Strategic thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities is essential.
  • Advanced proficiency across Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint, is necessary.
