We are seeking a Senior Mental Health Clinician to lead our team in providing specialist youth mental health care to young people in custody.

Job Description

The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting mental health assessments, formulating treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions. They will also establish and maintain strong partnerships with key agencies and community groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to the needs of each young person
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions, including psychological therapies and case management
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including youth justice staff, family members, and community service providers
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and services
  • Engage in professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices and research in youth mental health
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized qualification in a relevant field (e.g. psychology, social work, occupational therapy)
  • At least 5 years' experience working in tertiary and/or youth mental health settings
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sound knowledge of the youth justice system and other relevant community-based forensic services
