
Audit Compliance Specialist

This newly created 12-month fixed term role focuses on compliance with the National Heavy Vehicle Regulations (NHVR).
- Develop an internal audit program to assess transport providers' compliance with Heavy Vehicle National Law and Chain of Responsibility .
- Schedule and conduct audits based on risk and compliance history of transport providers and distribution centres.
- Prepare clear, evidence-based audit reports identifying non-conformances and recommend corrective actions.
The role requires developing and maintaining an audit program aligned with NHVAS and HVNL requirements, scheduling and conducting audits, preparing audit reports, training the existing audit team in CoR compliance assurance practices, completing audits efficiently, adapting to changing business needs, managing multiple engagements, communicating audit findings clearly, and providing training on frequent audit findings and compliance expectations.
What We Need From YouTo be successful in this role, you'll have:
- A demonstrated understanding and experience with Chain of Responsibility obligations and NHVR regulatory requirement compliance.
- Exposure to the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme, with relevant audit framework viewed favourably.
- Familiarity with internal control concepts, auditing standards, and risk assessment practices.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to make evidence-based decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive and solutions-focused nature, seeking to understand and help teams problem solve.
- Ability to drive improvements and meet deadlines.
