As a Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communications strategies that align with the company's overall technology goals.

Your key responsibilities will include delivering a robust communications environment that contributes to business objectives and requirements.

You will design and implement communication architectures and standards that support the company's technology strategy and undertake research and analysis to inform these initiatives.

You must have the ability to maintain, integrate, migrate and troubleshoot complex communications infrastructure including enterprise, voice and SCADA/controls/protection environments.

You will manage incident and request queues, document communications infrastructure in a complex multi-vendor environment, and physically capable of installing and maintaining equipment.

You will also monitor and improve communications infrastructure performance to optimise reliability and performance.

Critical communication skills are essential to interact and cooperate with stakeholders across the organisation, and participation in an on-call roster is required.

A Certificate III or IV in Electronics/Radio Trades or equivalent industry experience is required, preferably in complex communications infrastructure environments.

You must have highly developed influencing and negotiation skills at all levels, strong organisational and prioritisation skills, and the ability to translate business strategy into business-as-usual operations.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as demonstrated experience in the installation and maintenance of VHF and UHF radios, PDH, SDH and packet-based microwave radio systems and associated antenna systems.

Demonstrated experience in the installation and maintenance of optical fibre cabling and associated hardware, and communications DC power systems are also required.

Advanced analysis, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are necessary, and ITIL qualifications and experience are an advantage.

This role is a contract position working on a project/portfolio management category.
