Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Support Engineer to join our Payments Banking System team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and building scalable systems, ensuring seamless integration with key technologies, and leading efforts in mentoring engineers and ensuring high-quality operational delivery.

As a Senior Support Engineer, you will be responsible for proactively monitoring and optimising system performance, swiftly responding to incidents, leading root cause analyses, and implementing long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.

You will also provide 24 x 7 rostered on-call support where required by management, deliver advanced expertise and strategic input into operational design, process optimisation, and best practices.

In this role, you will contribute to the organisation's mission of delivering resilient, high-performing technology services to its customers, while actively embracing the DevOps philosophy of continuous improvement, agility, and innovation.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience as a Support Engineer or in a similar role
  • Experience operating within the ITIL framework
  • Experience in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python for automating support tasks
  • Solid understanding of databases (SQL, NoSQL) and ability to write queries
  • Experience with AWS Cloud, CI/CD tool GitHub, monitoring tools as Splunk, BMC Helix
  • Experience with File Transfer protocols
