Our organization is seeking an experienced Chief Risk Officer to join its leadership team.

This is a senior executive role with strategic oversight of enterprise-wide risk and compliance.

The CRO will serve as a key member of the Executive Committee, providing insight and governance across the organization's risk landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the second line of defense, overseeing enterprise risk management, compliance, breach reporting, whistleblowing, and recovery planning.
  • Provide independent risk advice, reporting, and guidance to senior management and the Board.
  • Serve as a standing invitee to key Board Committees, including Risk, Audit, and Technology, providing strategic oversight and regulatory updates.
  • Prepare and present risk management frameworks, risk appetite statements, and regulatory reports for Board approval.
  • Ensure robust governance, risk frameworks, and control systems are embedded across all business lines.
  • Monitor regulatory compliance and maintain strong relationships with regulators and auditors.
  • Promote a strong risk culture and support organizational strategy, people development, and operational resilience.
  • Escalate material issues and breaches to the Board and its committees as appropriate.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive senior-level experience in risk management, compliance, and regulatory frameworks within financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of credit risk, insurance, and structured financial transactions.
  • Proven leadership in managing high-performing teams and driving enterprise-wide risk culture.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including Board and regulator engagement.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (actuarial or finance-related).
  • High integrity, intellectual curiosity, and ability to operate in a fast-paced, international environment.
