Clermont Open Cut is a high performing truck and shovel operation that produces 11 million tonnes of coal per annum. This position will offer variety and opportunity to the right individual.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring, measuring and reporting geotechnical hazards
  • High wall mapping, analysis of dumps, pit wall stability and rock fall exposure
  • Installation and monitoring of geotechnical devices such as IDS radar, Prisms and Piezometers
  • Working closely with site technical services, operations teams and geotechnical consultants
  • Providing design and execution recommendations
  • Reviewing mine designs to ensure compliance with recommendations as well as updating site plans and procedures

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Geotech Engineering
  • 3 years minimum experience in Open Cut Coal Mining
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Ability to liaise with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, logical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a team focus
  • QLD Drivers Licence

This role requires a safety conscious candidate prepared to challenge the norm, drive continuous improvement and who can demonstrate experience in implementing best practice using a hands-on approach.
