Join our team as an Underground Mining Specialist and play a vital role in extracting coal from the earth. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires you to work safely, efficiently, and effectively.

Job Description
We are seeking skilled individuals to join our team of underground mining professionals. As an Underground Mining Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Carrying out personal risk assessment, hazard identification, and other safety requirements relevant to the role.
  • Performing underground mining activities including coal extraction using both longwall and continuous miners, primary and secondary support, and other supporting activities using a range of mining equipment in order for the mine to safely meet production goals.
  • Participating in site continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
  • Relevant experience in underground coal mining, with current competencies for the operation of a variety of underground mining equipment, mobile equipment, and for carrying out support activities.
  • Experience in both Development and Longwall mining operations would be highly regarded.
  • A demonstrated commitment to safety and the ability to work effectively in a team are key requirements of the role.
  • Commitment to high-performance standards.
  • Relevant tickets (Bolter, Shuttle Car, Loader, Drift runner).
