Diesel Mechanic Team Lead

Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment.
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our Workshop team as our Leading Hand in the Somerton branch. This role will see you lead a team of experienced technicians performing assembly, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of construction equipment.
The OpportunityThis is an exceptional chance to take on a leadership role and drive efficiency within the team. You will be responsible for leading a team of workshop technicians to meet, deliver, and exceed service expectations. Your expertise will be invaluable in ensuring that employees comply with all WHS responsibilities and maintain a safety-first culture.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with technical support staff and coordinate diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work
- Maintain work schedules to ensure efficient utilization of equipment and resources
- Be responsible for the day-to-day activities of workshop personnel and ensure labour is used effectively
- Liaise with stakeholders pertaining to machine performance, product, workmanship, and warranty
- Previous experience leading a team to achieve and exceed set goals
- Hold relevant Australian (or Australian recognised) diesel or mobile plant trade qualifications
- Safety first mindset - ensure the HCA Safety Culture is embraced, displayed, and driven from within
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to build long term relationships
$85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, you will be entitled to competitive bonuses, career progression opportunities, and a supportive mentorship program.
