The Opportunity

We are seeking a trade qualified Diesel Mechanic to lead our Workshop team in Somerton. This role involves leading a skilled workshop crew performing assembly, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of construction equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Workshop Technicians to meet service expectations
  • Drive efficiency within the team to meet deadlines while ensuring WHS responsibilities are met
  • Liaise with technical support staff and coordinate diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work
  • Maintain work schedules to ensure efficient utilization of equipment and resources
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day activities of workshop personnel and ensure labour is used effectively
  • Liaise with stakeholders regarding machine performance, product, workmanship, and warranty

Requirements:

  • Previous experience leading a team to achieve set goals
  • Australian diesel or mobile plant trade qualifications
  • Safety first mindset and ability to drive a safety culture
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to navigate complex technical issues to deliver high quality outcomes
  • Excellent technical knowledge of Hitachi mining and construction equipment
