Key Job Description:

We are seeking a professional Senior Building Surveyor to assist in undertaking building certification functions for the Queanbeyan Palerang Local Government Area.

  • This involves working closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide leadership, mentoring, and technical advice.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and managing construction certificates, complying development certificates, and Occupation Certificates.

  • Assist in undertaking the function of a building certifier for the Queanbeyan Palerang Local Government Area.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and a high level of technical advice to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in the assessment and management of construction certificates, complying development certificates, and Occupation Certificates.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong understanding of relevant certification standards and legislation, including the National Construction Code and NSW Environmental Planning legislation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in applying these standards and legislation in a real-world setting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to mentor and support team members.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Holds and maintains accreditation as a Building Surveyor – Restricted (all classes of building) or higher, in accordance with the Building and Development Certifiers Act 2018.
