Council is seeking a professional to join us as a Senior Building Surveyor.In this role you will:
  • Assist in undertaking the function of a building certifier for the Queanbeyan Palerang Local Government Area.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and a high level of technical advice to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in the assessment and management of construction certificates, complying development certificates, and Occupation Certificates and undertaking the Principal Certification role for applicants.
We are looking for someone who:
  • Holds and maintains accreditation as a Building Surveyor – Restricted (all classes of building) or higher, in accordance with theBuilding and Development Certifiers Act 2018.
  • Demonstrates expertise in applying relevant certification standards and legislation, including theNational Construction Code,Local Government Act,Swimming Pools Act, andNSW Environmental Planninglegislation.
  • Can demonstrate proven commitment to delivering high-quality customer service, with strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Has advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to mentor and support team members.
