Heavy Diesel Fitters Job Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters to join our teams at various sites in the Bowen Basin, Queensland.

  • Breakdown and maintenance of heavy surface mining equipment
  • Working on a 7/7 rotating roster

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Preventative and Breakdown Maintenance: Running diagnostics, testing, and servicing diesel engine vehicles
  2. Fault Identification and Rectification: Inspecting and identifying faults
  3. Routine Tasks: Oil changes, engine safety tests, part upgrades, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance, and repairing faults
  4. Procedure Updates: Initiating updates to work procedures to ensure accuracy and relevance
  5. Root Cause Analysis: Providing input into root cause analysis and resolving issues affecting equipment reliability
  6. Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for improvement and assisting in implementing new initiatives
  7. Safety and Team Engagement: Demonstrating a focus on safety, achievement, and team engagement in all aspects of work
Requirements:
  • Previous experience with CAT, Hitachi, Komatsu, or Liebherr heavy mining equipment
  • Excellent diagnostic skills and experience with excavators and drills (highly regarded but not essential)
  • High commitment to safety, quality, attention to detail, and procedure
  • Ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure
  • Strong desire to learn and enthusiasm to develop new skills
  • Teamwork mentality to achieve results
  • Sound technical knowledge
