About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Carbon Coordinator to join our team at the Australian Public Service Commission. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the development of our carbon strategy, providing advice and support on carbon project management, and managing projects to maximize Indigenous benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of our carbon strategy, including high-level strategic analysis of the potential for our priorities to be achieved through carbon projects, carbon farming methodology developments, and government and industry initiatives.
  • Provide advice and support on carbon project management to our Savanna Fire Management Program, our project managers, and Indigenous groups as required.
  • Manage projects, including contract management of external consultants, supervising project teams, and using our internal project management, contracting, and finance systems as required.
  • Assist with communications and strategy development, including contributing to the development and implementation of our evaluation and benefits frameworks, especially indicators relating to carbon emissions, environmental performance, and cultural outcomes.
  • Undertake research and information collation, including facilitating consultation with staff and stakeholders, to assist with the development of forms of our assistance, in relation to establishing and operating carbon projects to maximize Indigenous benefits.
  • Provide policy advice to our staff, the Board, and Executive on carbon-related developments and opportunities, based on up-to-date knowledge of national and international carbon policy, market, and methodology developments.
