Job Summary:

Casuarina Senior College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Faculty Coordinator to lead our Supported Learning and Teaching team. As a key member of our college leadership group, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the provision of education outcomes for students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee the provision of education outcomes as they relate to students with disabilities.
  • Lead staff in providing pedagogical and curriculum expertise that maximizes student engagement, retention, and achievement for students with disabilities.
  • Coordinate resources and manage staff attached to the supported learning team to optimize learning outcomes for students with a disability in compliance with Northern Territory Department of Education policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership for teacher professional practice in relation to working with students with disabilities and managing student special provisions for the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET) for these students.
  • Provide school-wide leadership through active involvement in whole school decision making, planning, and revision of procedures.
  • Undertake a teaching load.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of National and Department of Education policies and procedures relating to students with a disability in education.
  • Proven ability to work with a range of stakeholders both internal and external to the school to develop appropriate plans to ensure the needs of students with disabilities are met.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide pedagogical and curriculum solutions to maximize student welfare, engagement, retention, and achievement for those students identified as supported learning students.
  • Proven ability to manage staff, recruitment, and professional development, and provide coaching or mentoring in the areas of curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and the use of student data.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of curriculum and teaching in a special education setting.

Requirements:

  • Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of the Northern Territory.
  • A current Working with Children Notice (Ochre card) from SAFE NT.
