About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced policy professional to join our team in the Oil and Gas Division. As a Senior Policy Advisor, you will play a key role in shaping the department's policy agenda and providing advice to the Minister and senior executives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policy initiatives to support the transition to a low-carbon economy
  • Provide high-quality advice on complex policy issues to the Minister and senior executives
  • Engage with stakeholders, including industry, state governments, and other Commonwealth agencies, to build support for policy initiatives
  • Contribute to the development of legislation and regulations to support the department's policy agenda
  • Work collaboratively with other teams within the department to achieve policy objectives
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a field such as policy, law, economics, or a related field
  • Proven experience in policy development and implementation, preferably in a government agency
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and colleagues
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
