About the Role

We are seeking an experienced technical professional to join our IT team as a Desktop Support Specialist.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert assistance to internal end-users in office and remote locations, ensuring seamless operation of desktop systems and resolving technical issues promptly.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who possess a strong problem-solving attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide clear technical instructions to both technical and non-technical users.

Key skills required include familiarity with various desktop software, hardware, operating systems, AV, peripherals, and remote troubleshooting techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and manage user accounts and permissions to ensure secure access.

• Develop maintenance plans to prevent unexpected failures and ensure optimal system performance.

• Configure computer systems to meet specific business objectives and requirements.

• Monitor day-to-day computer performance and maintain records of issues resolved.

• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and network connectivity issues efficiently.

• Validate and approve VPN access for all remote users and ensure seamless interconnection of desktop computers with diverse systems.

• Assist in upgrading and maintaining entire desktop systems, including hardware and software upgrades.

• Provide training and guidance to staff on hardware and software usage and create technical documentation and manuals as needed.

Requirements and Skills:

• Proven work experience as a Desktop Support Engineer or Technical Support Engineer.

• Hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, and Mac OS desktop environments.

• Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners.

• Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs.

• Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills.

• Customer-oriented attitude and experience with Slack, Office Suite, Google Suite, and Zoom.
