Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation laws and compliance requirements.

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of taxation policies, procedures, and controls in alignment with relevant legislation and organizational goals.
  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance with statutory tax requirements.
  • Conducting tax-related investigations and preparing reports on issues such as tax implications of business decisions, mergers, acquisitions, and restructures.
  • Analyzing income, expenditure, and operating costs to identify tax liabilities, deductions, and planning opportunities.
  • Providing assurance regarding the accuracy and completeness of financial information in compliance with taxation laws and regulations.
  • Offering expert taxation advice on business structures, strategic planning, and operational matters to optimize tax outcomes.
  • Preparing and lodging tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax legislation.
  • Liaising with regulatory authorities, financial institutions, and brokers regarding tax matters and funding arrangements.
  • Introducing and maintaining tax accounting systems, and advising on the selection and implementation of software tailored to taxation reporting needs.
  • Appraising the tax implications, cash flow impacts, and financial risks of capital investment and business development projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Minimum 1 year's experience in a similar tax accounting role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation laws and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in using tax and accounting software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage with clients.
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related field.
  • CA or CPA qualification (or working towards) highly desirable.
