About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Senior Bookkeeper to join the team at The Modern Way, a dynamic accounting firm based in Bundall, Queensland. As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and providing essential support to our small business clients. This is a full-time or part time position that offers the chance to work from home and in office.

What you'll be doing

Overseeing all bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, and GST compliance

Preparing and delivering accurate, timely financial reports and statements for clients

Providing expert advice and guidance to clients on best practice bookkeeping and accounting procedures

Collaborating with the wider team to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies

Ensuring all bookkeeping activities adhere to relevant legislation and accounting standards

Mentoring and training more junior members of the bookkeeping team

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years' experience as a Senior Bookkeeper or in a similar role

Strong working knowledge of accounting software, such as Xero, QuickBooks and MYOB

Excellent attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to maintain meticulous financial records

Sound understanding of bookkeeping principles, taxation requirements, and financial reporting

Exceptional communication and client service skills

Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
