About the role

We are seeking an experienced Animal Health worker to join our Livestock health team at Grassdale Feedlot. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a wide variety of responsibilities, including:

  • Pen riding
  • Data entry and accurate record keeping using specialist feedlot systems (StockAid)
  • Trough cleaning
  • Diagnosis of animal health symptoms and administration of animal health treatments on site
  • Ensuring that cattle health, wellbeing, and performance are thoroughly monitored each day in an efficient manner and in accordance with company protocols and procedures
  • Ensuring cattle are handled using low stress livestock handling principles
  • Ensuring all livestock operations are performed safely and in accordance with company workplace health and safety requirements, policy, procedure, compliance, and regulatory requirements

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous feedlot experience (desirable)
  • Previous cattle handling and horsemanship experience and the ability to supply at least two horses (up to three) to be considered for the position
  • A keen attitude and willingness to learn
  • A strong work ethic and great communication skills
