Logistics Operations Manager

\

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Logistics Operations Manager to oversee the successful delivery of our products across the country. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all deliveries are made on time and within budget.

\

The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in people management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure with good time management skills. You will be responsible for managing a team of drivers, maintaining vehicles, and ensuring all deliveries are made efficiently.

\

Key Responsibilities:

\
  • Delivery Management: Ensure all deliveries are made in the correct manner and timeframe, monitor driver credits, and maintain accurate records.\
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain vehicles, ensuring services are carried out when and as required, to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.\
  • Staff Evaluation and Development: Undertake regular staff evaluations, recruit and train new team members, and provide coaching and guidance to improve performance.\
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Follow company procedures relating to any issues raised regarding drivers, including adherence to health and safety regulations and compliance with industry standards.\
  • Financial Management: Monitor and manage wages, budgets, and freight charges to ensure they remain within guidelines.\
  • Routing Optimization: Coordinate effective and efficient routing of all trucks and staff to ensure maximum delivery and service efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven Experience: Proven experience in people management, logistics operations, and supply chain management.\
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate at all levels.\
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to work under pressure, think critically, and solve problems effectively.\
  • Knowledge and Certifications: Possess AFM accreditation, knowledge of HACCP and OH & S regulations, and a solid understanding of routing systems and MFG PRO.
