The Role

As a Cropping Operations Manager at Agricultural Appointments, you will drive ongoing planning and cropping operations for our large-scale row-cropped fruit or vegetable farming enterprise.

  • You will be responsible for ensuring timely paddock preparation, sowing, crop management, and harvest liaison within specification, budget, weather, and operational constraints.
  • You will undertake all daily cropping operations management, including liaison with maintenance, and direct management of agronomy, grower, irrigation, and cropping personnel, as well as third-party contractors.
  • You will work closely with finance to undertake related budgeting, planning, and purchasing for cropping operations, crop inputs, staffing, and contracting.
  • You will ensure that all site WHS and food safety standards, including HARPS and Global Gap, are met.

The Requirements

We are seeking an experienced leader with 5+ years' experience in large-scale row-cropped fruit or vegetable cropping operations. A related qualification is highly desirable. Experience with farming enterprise planning software and MS Excel/Word is also advantageous.

A natural leader, good communicator, and strong team player will thrive in this role. An excellent salary package is on offer for the right candidate, estimated at $120,000 - $150,000 per annum.
