Job Description

The General Manager - Row Cropping Operations plays a pivotal role in driving ongoing planning and cropping operations. Key responsibilities include ensuring timely paddock preparation, sowing, crop management, and harvest liaison within specified constraints.

Main Responsibilities
  • Liaise with maintenance teams to ensure efficient daily operations, including agronomy, grower, irrigation, and cropping personnel management.
  • Directly manage all staff's OH&S, operational performance, and contract compliance.
  • Collaborate with finance to undertake budgeting, planning, and purchasing for cropping operations, crop inputs, staffing, and contracting.
  • Ensure adherence to Site WHS and food safety standards, including HARPS and Global Gap requirements.
Requirements

To be successful in this position, you should have 5+ years of experience in large-scale row-cropped fruit or vegetable cropping operations, preferably with related qualifications.

Desirable skills include experience with farming enterprise planning software and proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word. As a natural leader, you should possess excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders.
